The earliest recorded artesian well was drilled in Artois France and has flowed since 1126. In the United States the first well appeared in 1806. Today the largest flowing well region is the Pecos Valley in New Mexico as reported by The Earth in Chicago.
In Washington on June 3, Miss Alletta Van Reypen daughter of Rear Admiral Van Reypen and Baron Serge Alexander Korff were married in a Greek rite at the bride’s residence. The Archbishop of the Greek Church in New York officiated with Rev A Horovitzky presiding. An Episcopal service followed conducted by Rev Dr Roland Cotton Smith.
Delegates and visitors are arriving in Kalamazoo for the thirty seventh annual convention of the Michigan Churches of Christ. The event runs three days with a formal opening this evening. Walter F. Legg of Battle Creek will lead the song service and J C Wilson of Waldron will deliver the devotional. Arthur Holmes of Ann Arbor and W J Wright, National Superintendent of Evangelism, will give addresses. Regular convention business begins tomorrow morning.
