Ramage Dies by Self Inflicted Knife Wound at Roswell Farm

H B Ramage aged 58 died at St Marys hospital from a jugular knife wound ruled self inflicted. Inquest heard Ramage visited his son John Ramage on a Roswell area farm before stating he had done it. He collapsed in his car. four sons testified of ill health and prior statements about being out of the way.

Jackson Mississippi July 10 Mississippians vote on scrapping the 25 year old bone dry law. The ballot offers choices: oppose legalization in state and county or favor county and statewide repeal. A statewide repeal would allow liquor sales only in counties voting for it and a state liquor commission would run stores with profits to the state treasury.

Dillinger Car Id Seen In New Mexico

Silver City New Mexico peace officers studied a report that a Ford V eight sedan with Wisconsin plate FP 420980 linked to John Dillinger was seen Sunday night with three men and a woman. Ben Deck, who spotted the car, reported it to Sheriff Casey who learned it matched a Dillinger listed vehicle. The car headed toward Lordsburg or Deming on the Tucson route and has not been traced since.

Lynching in Bastrop after alleged attempted assault on girl

A mob killed 26 year old Andrew McLeod in Bastrop Louisiana after he reportedly confessed an attempted incident with a 19 year old girl near Jones. Town officers could not stop the mob and a rope death followed after a failed hanging.

Democrats seek investigation into New Mexico relief amid politics

Santa Fe July 10 AP Democrats demand relief offices in New Mexico be replaced. The Democratic State Central Committee approved a resolution to investigate relief operations and named a five member panel. The meeting elected John E Miles as chairman with 105 delegates present and set rules for a forthcoming nominating convention. Bids for the convention came from Santa Fe Albuquerque Taos Clayton and Tucumcari.

Sixty Men Work on Main Street Water Project

Sixty men are employed on the FERA project to replace the water main on Main street from Seventh to Alameda. They work two shifts of 30 per week and expect about two months to finish. The old main will be salvaged and side streets will be closed briefly. Work began at the north end and proceeds south.

Cortland Illinois July 10 AP Mrs A Mosbacks 20 pigs sold for 12.22 with deductions of 11.14 leaving 0.68 earnings. The 162 pounds of pork produced earned little after costs, reflecting a small profit per pig.
