A winter tornado struck near the Arkansas line in eastern Oklahoma killing seven people and wounding many in Gans and surrounding areas. Three died in Gans and four in nearby communities as the storm moved toward Brent. Aid rushed in from Sequoyah County as forecasters warned of possible further twisters.
