Arthur Johnson Executed in Santa Fe Electric Chair
Arthur F. Johnson was executed by electric chair at 12:02 a.m. in Santa Fe after insisting he acted to defend his wife and daughter from harm. The 57 year old white haired inmate maintained he killed William Cabrel with a rock doorstop not to rob him but to stop an assault. More than 75 witnesses, including guards, attended as Deputy Warden A. C. Warming summoned the door and Rev. Robert Brown offered last rites.

Mrs Lake Fraziers Mother Dies In Roswell
Annie Holshue eight two, 608 N Kentucky Ave., died at her daughter Mrs Lake J Frazier home in Roswell yesterday afternoon after a heart attack last Monday. She was widow of Galen F Holshue who died years ago and came to Roswell in 1926 with her daughter and son in law. Mrs Frazier is her only child. Mr Holshue served in the Union forces and was later Shamokin mayor. Continued on page nine.

Man in Federal Custody After Bank Robbery Suspicion
William Lee Davisson, 33, formerly of Cha ves County, was in federal custody as investigators review his past. He was sentenced to the New Mexico Penitentiary in 1940 for auto theft and released on parole in 1941 to Ohio. He pleaded guilty to the bank robbery where bank president Tully F Dunlap tackled him during a $20,000 hold up. Probation officer Frank A Edwards will report March 5 before Davisson’s sentence.
