Alaska calls for election to replace Begich
Anchorage Alaska AP a special election set for March 6 to fill the seat of Rep Nick Begich presumed dead in a plane crash. Judge Tyner signed a presumptive death certificate as Gov Egan called for the vacancy and Begich aide Russell Brown and pilot Don Jonz were also presumed dead. A related suit over Don Young's nomination was dismissed for lack of jurisdiction by Fairbanks Superior Court Judge Everett Hepp.
