Local gross receipts tax expands to six New Mexico towns
The New Mexico Bureau of Revenue announced that starting January 1 six more municipalities and Los Alamos County will levy a local gross receipts tax of one fourth of a percent in addition to the state 4 percent tax. Alamogordo Grants Santa Rosa Los Lunas Williamsburg Elida and Los Alamos County join the locally taxed list. Ruidoso’s local rate rises from one fourth to one half percent following voter approval.

Ski area operators report varied conditions across the state. Red River and Powder Puff show good to excellent bases 24 to 36 inches while Sandia Peak remains closed.
