Raja the elephant to move from St. Louis Zoo to Columbus Zoo
Raja the elephant, a longtime St. Louis Zoo draw, will relocate to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Ohio in late 2024 or early 2025 to breed and mentor a young male. The move aims to boost genetic diversity under the Asian Elephant Species Survival Plan, with Raja fathering one of St. Louis’ few breeding-age females and his daughter Jade pregnant.
