Roswell city schools superintendent Dr David Transgard and Chaves County Independent School District superintendent Marion Richards announced at noon that all schools in Roswell and Chaves County will be closed Friday due to weather. All school offices and buses in the area will be halted.
Evalyn McLean 25 daughter of Jock McLean was found dead at her Plano ranch home. Officials said no wounds seen. cause unknown pending toxicology results, which may take two to three weeks. Funeral services were held and her body cremated. Her family once owned the Hope diamond later sold to Harry Winston.
