RISD Board Approves Biliteracy Seal Policy
Roswell Independent School District trustees approved a policy to award a biliteracy seal on high school diplomas or transcripts for students attaining functional proficiency in one or more languages plus English. Gun ban near polling places advances in interim committee
The Courts Corrections and Justice Interim Committee endorsed a draft measure banning firearms within 100 feet of polling places during voting. Violations would be petty misdemeanors with up to six months in prison. Law enforcement carrying duties and security personnel are exempt. Senate President Peter Wirth introduced the bill, mirroring Senate Bill 44 from last session.
