Attorneys clash over release of White House tapes
In Washington Charles Alan Wright argued the Nixon tapes hold national security material and cannot be released to the Watergate grand jury. Archibald Cox urged a firm legal duty to produce tapes, while Judge Sirica planned a decision within a week after a two hour hearing. Wright said the President delegated Watergate authority to the attorney general but not the power to decide which tapes must be produced.

Roswell Man Extradited to New Mexico Penitentiary
Richard Parker 28 formerly of 707 Greenwood Dr Roswell was moved by Chaves County officers from Seattle to the New Mexico State Penitentiary Santa Fe to serve a 2 to 10 year term after losing an extradition fight. Parker convicted in September 1972 on three counts LSD distribution and located in Seattle with FBI help.
