Downtown redevelopment plan aims to boost Silver City growth
Silver City plans a Tax Increment Financing district to fund downtown improvements using future property tax revenues from a district valued around 50 million dollars. The plan, described as public private, lasts 20 years with a committee setting eligible infrastructure spending as property values rise post improvements. Mayor Morones says it could generate substantial funds though vacancy remains a concern.
