Mine spill fouls rivers prompting health concerns across Southwest
A 100 mile orange plume from the Gold King mine in Colorado shut water intakes across Colorado New Mexico and tribal areas. The Navajo Nation and state governments declared emergencies and closed river sections through August 17 amid arsenic lead and other metals.
