Amarillo report states Archbishop elect R. A. Gerken will be installed as head of the Santa Fe Archdiocese on August 23 with Most Rev. Bank Employes Indicted In Albuquerque Bank Case

Three First Savings Bank and Trust Company tellers and officers in Albuquerque were indicted by a grand jury on charges of making false entries. Ira Boldt faces three indictments for large entries totaling about 49 000 dollars across bond and trust accounts. Eugene Tomej and Fred Howell each face multiple false-entry counts and have been released on bonds.

Farmers who signed cotton retirement agreements have largely plowed the portion to retire. Committees have inspected several crops to verify compliance, with more inspections underway. County Commission Eyes Proclamation For Sept Election

Alleged Bank Bandit Caught in Hot Springs

In Hot Springs New Mexico August 3 a man giving the name Johnnie Wilson, alleged to be wanted in Paris Arkansas for murder and bank robbery, was arrested by Sierra county deputies after a car stop. A gun was found in the vehicle though Wilson was unarmed. A woman identified as Miss King was arrested for investigation and claimed to be his wife. Wilson was taken to Dona Ana county jail in Las Cruces for safekeeping.

Texas may seek state line dam cold New Mexico

Maj Richard Burges of El Paso one of the Rio Grande Tri State Compact Committee urged Governor Miriam Ferguson to join the application for construction of the closed basin drain and state line reservoir on the Colorado New Mexico line under the industrial recovery act.
