Washington August 3 The crop estimating board of the Department of Agriculture reports cotton condition for July 25 at 82.9, up from 74.9 a year earlier and above the ten year average of 82.4. Texas cotton is rated 86, above its ten year average of 80.
Live stock figures from Kansas City show cattle receipts at about 2,000 and sheep at 1,000. Cattle prices span native steers 4.00 to 6.15, southern cows 2.00 to 3.50, native cows 2.00 to 5.25, stockers 2.25 to 4.40, bulls 2.15 to 3.50, calves 2.50 to 5.75, western fed cows 2.50 to 4.25. Sheep markets are strong with muttons 4.00 to 5.15 and lambs 6.00 to 7.50.
