August dispatches from Helsingfors St. Petersburg and Cronstadt describe Sveaborg mutineers surrendering or fighting, mutiny on the Pamfatozova, royal fugitives rumored, and a general strike planned. Casualties mount as loyal regiments regain control and authorities move to prosecute leaders.

In Ouray Colorado on August 2 the bodies of L A Thompson general manager and W Mather foreman of the Mickey Breen mine for Tempest Apex Mining and Milling Co were found in a tunnel half a mile from the mine. They disappeared a week ago during a heavy storm and were overwhelmed by rocks and dirt washing into the tunnel.
Chicago sent forty or more subpoenas for officers and employees of Standard Oil Co. to New York. M. F. Elliott, Standard Oil general counsel, said the company would not obstruct service and would not hinder government officials attempting to serve legal papers.
