After a night of deliberation the jury found Frank and Allen DeWitt and Earl Howard guilty on all counts for robbing the Elida post office on December 23. The report states the jury stood nine for conviction and three. Howard reportedly gets months in jail while the DeWitts face prison.

Dr James H Darlington was consecrated bishop of the new Harrisburg Diocese in Christ Church Brooklyn today. Born in Brooklyn in 1856 he was educated at the University of the City of New York and ordained in 1882. He served Christ Church Williamsburg and became archdeacon of Brooklyn before leading Christ Church Brooklyn.

Attention now focuses on the escape of former Assistant Cashier Henry G Goll believed to have left the city.

Invitations are out for the wedding of Richard Thorne and Miss Mary Wallace in Roswell May th. Thorne is manager of the Carlsbad store of the Alery Furniture Co. Wallace lived in Roswell three years and left for Tennessee about a year ago. The ceremony will take place at the bride’s home and they will reside in Carlsbad.
The Territorial district court spent much time on the Lund versus Herbert case. It concerned a $50 attorney fee. Judgment was entered for $25 plus prior credits.
The will of the late E. O. Creighton was filed for probate today. Mrs Letha Creighton is named executrix without bond as sole beneficiary of the instrument.
The local G A R post holds its regular meeting Saturday at two o'clock in the afternoon at the office of A E Page. All members are requested to attend.
