Three big days at Carlsbad celebrate the completion of irrigation projects in New Mexico. Local officials and residents plan ceremonies, tours, and speeches highlighting water management milestones and regional impact.
Local water users plan Carlsbad led irrigation celebration July 3 4 and 5 in Roswell Pecos Valley and Elephant Butte associations to participate. Beeman reports strong federal and Elks support, public meetings set to raise funds and organize events. Roswell and Carlsbad cooperation expected with entertainment sports and parades.
The Odd Fellows and Rebekah lodges invite members and visiting friends to a social at the hall Thursday evening April 25 to commemorate the eighty eighth anniversary of the IOOF founding in America. Light refreshments will be served.

Providence Rhode Island April 24 The Rhode Island Street Railway Company announces a ten percent raise in wages based on a ten hour day to take effect Sunday next. The increase was granted without any request from the workers.
The grand jury returned five indictments Tuesday. One remains withheld at this time. Two indictments name Clarence Pantney for assault. Two indictments name Pablo Villarreal for passing bad money. Both defendants have been arrested.
Several provincial governors arrived in St. Petersburg to back the reactionists in demanding dissolution of parliament. They argue debates cause dangerous agitation and unrest, noting agrarian disorders in the provinces last year as evidence.

Frank H. Butler a deck-hand on the steamer John H. Wilson was taken into custody in Dover Delaware charged with the murder of four year old Horace N Marvin son of Dr Marvin who disappeared March fourth. Detectives theory points to a likely motive behind the abduction and death.
