The Prescott recital at the Presbyterian church drew a good audience though not as large as hoped. Miss Elizabeth Garrett and Miss Helen Cooper of El Paso teamed with Mrs. Robert C. Cook of Roswell in a musical program that pleased attendees. Roswell Garrett, a native of Roswell, is cited as the daughter of Pat Garrett.

Arcadia Lumber Barge Believed Lost After Boiler Explosion

The wooden barge Arcadia, sailing from Manistee on April 12 to Two Rivers with hardwood, is presumed lost in Lake Michigan. Wreckage identified as its remains was found. captain and owner Harry May, his wife, a woman cook, and about eleven crew members are presumed dead.

Hayes Indicted for Cashing Checks While Incarcerated

Frank Hayes, jailed at Carlsbad, faced two indictments yesterday for obtaining money under false pretenses.
