Budget Cuts Discussed by Pelly Trail Board

The Pelly Trail School Board held a public meeting April 26 at Rossburn Collegiate to discuss 1983 budget cuts. About 200 parents voiced concerns over staff and program reductions including Industrial Arts, Home Economics, and Music. The board proposed raising taxes, cutting expenses, and drawing from a nominal surplus, while seeking additional provincial funding to restore programs.

United Church Women Meet May Observance and Tanzania Talk

The United Church Women held their May meeting at 8 00 P M with Dorothy Chegwin and Adeline Schaworski leading devotion on What Makes a Mothers Day The meeting included a history of Knox United Church Rossburn s 8th anniversary presented by Dorothy Brown and a talk by Mrs Jo Anne Collingridge with slides on life in Tanzania Africa Archives contact details for birth marriage and death tracing were noted The event featured a luncheon prepared by Olive Veitch Jean Bartkin Margaret Palmer Helen Derlago and Sophie Checkowski.
