Amelia McKay, a 51 year old Erickson resident, scratched a TIC-TAC-TOE instant lottery ticket and won 10000 dollars. The mother of ten and grandmother of twenty one said diagonal Xs confirmed the win and she plans to bank the prize. She noted the game lets players win cash prizes without a draw.
Residents noticed a longer lobby after the Rossburn Post Office installed 96 additional mailboxes bringing the total to 564. Postmaster Chuck Grabowski said 72 were requested but 96 were provided, and the extra boxes were installed.
Danette Luhowy H.A.S. Manager reports about 225 students and youths registered seeking summer work. She urges proactive job searching, persistent employer contact, and mutual cooperation. She notes social insurance numbers, work permits for under sixteen, Careerstart program involvement, and offers contact details and hours.
At the May 14 meeting in Rossburn Council Chambers, Reeve John Mitchell and councilors approved multiple motions. They include plans to study a Vista water supply upgrade with PFRA and Agri Water Services, plus bylaw actions for a fire department and street lighting at Rossman Lake Resort.
Cultural Affairs minister Eugene Kostyra announced Local Histories Grants totaling 94572 have been awarded to 40 Manitoba community organizations to research and write local histories. Recipients include Onanole Crawford Park and Lake Audy Historical Society 1775, Hamiota Centennial History 1500, Sandy Lake Historical 2500, Shellmouth Historical Club 2000, Minnedosa Centennial Committee 1500, with up to 2500 per grant to boost quality and preservation.
