Uskiw proposes Manitoba seat belt and helmet bill
Manitoba Highway Traffic Act amendments by Minister Samuel Uskiw would require all passengers five years and older and the driver to wear seat belts, and riders of motorcycles mopeds and motor assisted bicycles to wear helmets with exceptions for cabs, medical reasons, police, and certain duties. The measure aligns with federal standards for vehicles built after 1971 and aims to cut deaths and serious injuries.
