Science Fair shows tools don’t make the scientist at Brandon event
The Western Manitoba Science Fair returns to Brandon University Gymnasium March 19 and 20. Carberry entrants dominate Canada Wide Science Fair trips with nine of fifteen medals in recent years. Junior entries compete across Life Physical Applied and General Science, with 28 prizes and a Toron to Canada Wide berth for regional winners. Free admission features Rubik's Cube contest, Reach for the Top, glassblowing, reptiles, micro computer displays, RCMP and police dog demos.

Ottawa report notes Hon. David Crombie will headline the Portage Marquette Progressive Conservative Association annual meeting on March 27 at MacGregor Memorial Hall. Rossburn area launches the Birdtail Valley Tossing Manes 4-H Light Horse & Pony Club led by Eleanor Rezac with assistant Freda Butler. Fire hits area home in Rossburn district
Rossburn Fire Department responded at 5:45 P.M. March 8 to the Myron Glushka home north of Rossburn. Sixteen volunteers and two fire trucks battled the blaze believed to start in the chimney, damaging only the kitchen and attic with no injuries reported.
