Special meeting resolves grader issue and equipment swap
At a special meeting held Friday June 23 1978 presided by Reeve John Mitchell with councillors present the group discussed continuous breakdowns of the Champion Model 740 grader. It was agreed to exchange the 1977 grader for a 1978 model with $4000 due after January 1 1979 and delivery FOB Rossburn with on site moldboard exchange and 1977 grader returned.

Rainfall Adds Welcome Rain After Droughty Period
Showers bring much needed rain to the region with Rossburn recording over one inch in the past week from four thundershowers. Day by day high temperatures ranged from the mid sixties to low eighties with scattered showers. This season totals 6.61 inches since April 1, close to last year’s 6.52 inches.

Community bids farewell to departing couples at Rossburn Town Hall
A June 19 gathering in Rossburn Town Hall honored Cst. Ron and Linda Lamabe and Cst. Pat and Carolyn O Reilly. Gifts from the community included a tape deck, radio, toboggan, ride on tractor, plaque, transistor radio, necklace, lamps, barbecue, and a tricycle. Nursery School and church groups delivered tokens and entertainment as attendees enjoyed a lunch together.

At a June 26 1978 meeting five miles east of Rossburn the Rural Municipality council discussed a Ward One road building plan. Deputy Reeve Joe Dnistransky and Councillors Wally Peleshok and William Antonow debated scope and cost and authorized up to 7500 for completion with 6500 charged to 1978 Ward One funds and the balance to 1979 funds.

Rossburn Seniors Win Largest Rally Crowd At Russell Arena
On June 21 the Senior Citizens Rally at Russell arena drew 47 Rossburn participants, the largest attendance, and they collected the most event wins earning a commemorative plaque. Winners included Tennie Trakalo, Fred Strilesky, Sam Pachkowsky, Nick Stupinsky, and Peter Yaroshewsky with darts, shuffleboard, lawn darts, and horseshoes.
