Province To Launch Farm Water Program
Manitoba acts to launch a five year farm water services program on July 1 1971 with total funding of 1.6 million dollars. Grants up to 33 dollars per farm offset 15 percent of costs for water source development and transmission works. The ARDA agreement with Ottawa aims for a 50 50 cost share. The plan aims year round water for farms, reduces drought purchases, improves health and fire protection, boosts local industry, and is run by the provincial water resources branch with cooperation from Health and Social Development. Applications available through agricultural representatives or the Rural Water Services Section.
