A simple way to ensure morning nourishment is to prepare a batch of bran muffins or date bread, wrap portions individually, and freeze. In the morning, grab a muffin with cheese and raisins or an orange for a quick, portable meal.

The Harvest Festival runs 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with an Invitational Ladies Fastball Tournament and prize money. Loran Gay Time Shows, rides, and attractions will be on the grounds. The Harvest Festival Dance features Adam Krupa and the North Wind. Sundays events include a Four Team Fastball Tournament, Voyageur Race, Water Ski Show and an Air Show. A Barbecue supper is also planned.
Recreation life jackets encouraged for participants. Golfers can compete this weekend for the Manitoba Sand Greens Open Golf Championship. Harvest Festival in Rossburn will draw visitors this year with plans to be announced. For suggestions call 859-2552 or 859-2591.
Attendance rose at Silver Beach events with Arts and Crafts on Thursday led by recreation directors from Russell and Rossburn. Plans include water ski and canoe clinics, Tilson Trail hike, and a moonlight hayride if interest grows. Swimming lessons run July 17 to 28.
