Campbell reunion at Clear Lake draws family from far and wide
Families of the late William Campbell of Rossburn Onanole and Mrs Campbell now in Calgary gathered at Clear Lake on July 8 and 9 for a reunion. Attendees included S Campbell Calgary Bertha Johnston Rosburn Winnie Gray Onanole Sterling Elm Creek Ken Calgary Russell and Glen Edmonton. Forty dined at Mooswa dining room with 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The weekend featured catching up dancing and a lake side picnic with swimming games and a picnic supper.

The Birdtail Women's Institute celebrated its 55th anniversary on July 9 1978 at Rossman Lake Youth Camp with families and a supper. Lifetime memberships were awarded to Emily Tanasychuk and Alice Hrubeniuk for thirty and twenty seven years of service. The institute motto Home and Country was honored by the two women and remarks noted the group’s community impact. A second jamboree and camp-out at Welwyn Park on July 8 drew 124 registrants with Dennis Hall of Regina winning the furthest distance prize.

The United and Presbyterian Churches plan a Cross Cultural Vacation Bible School with eight youth leaders from Rossburn area at two five day trainings in Winnipeg. Two six day sessions will run July 24 to 29 at Birtle and Birdtail and July 31 to August 5 at Rossburn and Waywayseecappo with mixed transportation and schedules for Reserve and town children.
