Mrs Joe Lehman and Mary lyn drove to Boone Sunday to meet daughter Carol Jean who with her instructor spent last week in Chicago at a training school for dance teachers. Thirty one Rolfe ladies attended a flower show at Plover last week. Marshall and Michael Brinkman twin sons of Mr and Mrs David Brinkman are Explorer Scouts on the Black Hills trip. Pocahontas Legion Junior baseball team lost a friendly 4 to 3 at the local park. A Community Concert is planned for August 23 at St Pauls Lutheran Church featuring Louise Thorson violinist and Sigrid Simonson vocalist.

A farm near the golf course produced forty recovered golf balls from oat field stubble after Jas Cornwell and his son worked the east side. The city council water committee chairman issued notice this week restricting water use for sprinkling.
