Easter Themed Activities And Class Updates
Our room celebrated Easter with bulletin board pictures and a door rabbit. Students made paper lilies, dyed egg shell bouquets, learned counting and five figure numbers, and named the eighteen students achieving hundreds in spelling. Carl Block turned eleven with candy bars, and our science collection now includes tar sulfur and petrified wood.

The class reports starting Secret Garden and holding regular room meetings. They earned excellent on a Math Self-Help Test and enjoy Spatter painting in art. Attendance varies with Lauren, Pat, and Marla being absent at times. They note birthdays, pictures on the bulletin board, and viewing films about fractions and Brazil. They also plant a flower pot and play baseball frequently.

Farm Bureau district meeting sets Get Out The Vote drive
Mrs. Arlo Ives and Mrs. Gottlieb Janssen led the county Farm Bureau delegation at a Spencer district meeting on April 1 with LeRoy Getting in charge. Plans were set for county Get Out The Vote campaigns to raise voter turnout. Pocahontas County will host the next meeting April 9 at 8:00 PM in the courthouse assembly room with invitations extended to township women leaders and 4-H officials and others interested.

The NBC Road Show rewards outstanding Iowa drivers with prizes such as watches radios and typewriters as Safety Director Jonny Lange notes. Le Roy E Evans of Camanche won over 300 dollars in prizes for courteous driving after being stopped by Tom Flanagan. Charlotte Kittleson of St Ansgar died from an accidental gunshot wound in Mason City while sorting clothes.
