Important Annual Meeting of High Line Stockholders
At Odd Fellows hall on December 10 the Rocky Ford Canal and Trust stockholders organized the meeting electing Eugene Brewer as chairman and G M Hall as secretary. A $6.00 per share assessment was approved for canal maintenance with 1497 shares represented. Directors nominated included G M Hall and J F Hall among others. Parberry and Brewer led in votes. A proposed ordinance granting Colorado and Eastern Telephone rights was discussed, with provisions for poles, street repairs, and city fire police wires, while reserving nonexclusive rights for others.

Accidental Death at Ordway Hardware Store
W H Crane manager of Ordway Hardware Company accidentally shot himself Friday morning while cleaning a 32 calibre revolver. The bullet entered under the chin and passed upward through the brain. He died about an hour later.

Beets, Wages, and Coal Woes Hit Greeley and Rocky Ford
A Greeley report notes forty cents an hour and seven dollars a day for beet harvesters, with four horse teams common and labor scarce. In Rocky Ford coal shortages loom as dealers run low on stocks while miners are scarce.
