Corner Stone Laying for First Presbyterian Church
A large crowd attended the corner stone ceremony at Walnut Ave and Ninth St for the First Presbyterian Church in Rocky Ford. Clergy from Colorado Springs Las Animas Pueblo La Junta and local churches led prayers readings and a dedication, with Dr Kirkwood and Dr Work delivering remarks on church history and community value. The green Vermont granite stone, gifted by Mrs. J. C. Randall, bears the church name and Roman numeral year.
