Pipe Organ Dedication At Methodists Church Impresses Parishioners

The newly purchased pipe organ was publicly dedicated by Organist Thomas Waters of Denver with a recital. Madame Sigman Kellogg and Dunbar offered solos. the program included Wagner Handel Beyer pieces and selections from I Fear No Foe and Love Song of Robin Hood. The oak case instrument fits the church interior, its tubular pneumatic action and 16 foot high pipes dominate a 15 by 16 foot floor footprint.

Woman's Club Meeting Reports Varied Program

The Woman's Club met with Mrs. Johnson last Saturday. The program featured Statue over the Gathedale Door by Mrs. W. D. Lewis, Burne-Jonas on Miss Orwell’s absence, Ruskin paper The Mysteries of Life and Art by Miss Kimzey, Sterling Castle by Mrs Wolfe, plus phonographic selections by Miss Barkley.

Revival at Brethern Church Opens December 7

Evangelist A C Root leads a revival at the Brethern church beginning Saturday evening December 7 with services nightly at 7 30. The sessions will continue indefinitely and are extended to all seeking inspiration and renewal.

Carnegie Library Fund Rises as City Council Meets

The Woman's Club library committee reports 2500 dollars pledged for the Carnegie Library project. Tonight the city council will consider leasing a portion of Central Park for a 99 year term to build the library, with land previously deeded for park use. A grand benefit concert on December 27 will feature George Heckman, Dolce Grossmayer, and Bessie Fox Davis, with fuller details next week.

Musicale by San Souci Club at Mrs Randall’s Home

The San Souci Club hosted a social musicale last Tuesday evening at Mrs G P Randall’s home. Husbands and friends attended as honored guests, with old-time ballad selections pleasing the crowd. The San Souci band led a grand finale as Harold Dye directed.

Valley Pioneer T W Carleton Obituary of Early Rocky Ford Resident

Funeral services for T. W. Carleton, a 65 year old early Rocky Ford resident, were held at his daughter's home on North Main. He helped establish key Main Street buildings, later moved to a ranch near Fountain, and was buried from there. Rev Green led services with family and friends in attendance. Alfred Whittaker, son of T J Whittaker, aged 33, was also buried Saturday at Sprinker mortuary chapel with Yearmen members present in respect.

Governor Buchtel Visits Rocky Ford for Lecture

Governor Buchtel spent several hours in Rocky Ford on Wednesday morning en route to a lecture engagement in a nearby Missouri Pacific town. He stayed at the Godding home as a guest, then departed with Clay Wolfe driving to the next destination after dinner.

J B Hillyard transfers El Capitan Hotel to Ouray buyers and gains ownership of a 130000 dollar Denver property named the Physician's Building at Fifteenth and Stout. He remains in the hotel on a one year lease while J H Jr moves to Denver to manage the new Doctors tenants. Foundation work begins on Mt Olive Colored Baptist church with rapid progress possible in favorable weather.

Rocky Ford Colorado November 27 1907 Irrigation Division Engineer John M Jackson reports a banner water season with strong yields and high overall crop quality. Cantaloupes shipped from the district value at about 2291100 dollars, cattle feed volumes rise, lambs shrink, and reservoir storage figures for Lewis Box Springs and Bob Creek noted with Holbrook Reedings. To Save the Girls at Cottage Home Appeal

Mrs. D. M. Hayes of the Denver WGC T U Cottage Home speaks Sunday at the Christian church and Sunday night at the Baptist church in support of the home. She notes first-time offenders enter the home and are guided toward pure lives through Christian influence, urging liberal donations to the Colorado WGC T U run facility.

Thanksgiving Day Observed With Football at Fair Grounds

Thanksgiving services centered on a Presbyterian church gathering after a day marked by a community football game. Rev Harter spoke on grounds for thanks noting progress in prohibition, easing financial storms, and personal blessings with Revs Potashinsky and Davenport contributing. The annual worthy poor collection totaled 37 dollars 39 cents, custodians named as Warren Blinn P Mounts A Cleaves and D W Barkley.
