Rocky Ford High School Edifice Advances in Fall Building
The Rocky Ford high school project moves toward completion with construction now to the third story. Architect Walter Dubree notes a handsome brown sandstone façade, grey brick, white sandstone caps, terra cotta cornice, red tile roof, and green interior finishes. The four-story plan houses basement labs, general classrooms, Domestic Science, Commercial and Manual Training departments, a large auditorium, offices, and later physical and chemical labs. The grounds include a tree-filled block and a planned lawn. The project, bought park land for 5000 dollars, will cost over 37000 dollars and aims to be a premier local educational building.
