Livestock Marketing Meetings Advancing in Gibson County
Meetings were held in most townships except Jackson to discuss livestock marketing on the county plat. John Hull of Gibson County attended and aided organization. Articles of incorporation were adopted at Chrisney with 108 signers, far above the 25 needed. Hull notes the county once had only a fourth as many signers. Shipping associations are strong, and livestock marketing contracts may be obtained via Township Directors. Seed potatoes may be treated with corrosive sublimate for black leg and scab. Formaldehyde is advised for scab but not for the other diseases.

State ban on odd sized hampers and baskets adopted
The last state legislature passed a measure banning odd sized hampers and baskets to standardize containers. The law targets 1344 quart hampers and 16, 27, and 32 quart sizes, reducing variety, limiting what manufacturers sell, and requiring retailers to switch shipments to compliant sizes.
