Obituary for J. V. Admire of Enid Oklahoma
J. V. Admire died Friday March 3 at his Haidi Oklahoma home after months of illness. He leaves a wife and three children along with siblings Squire Admire of Yankeetown and W. W. Admire of Detroit and a sister Mrs. T. J. Fay. Born in Brown County in 1843 he served as captain of Co. E 65th Indiana and later edited newspapers and held government posts in Kansas and Oklahoma. He lived in Newburg Osage City Kingfisher Enid and was known in Spencer and Warrick counties.

A Golden Wedding Observed at Shrode Home Near Silverdale
Despite morning cyclone and bad weather on March 7, about fifty people gathered at Mr and Mrs Frank Shrode's home near Silverdale church to mark their 50th wedding anniversary. The gathering featured long tables with a grand centerpiece white cake inscribed A golden wedding and a feast of numerous dishes as the host describes.

Barn Fire Destroys Payne Farm Barn on River Farm
A large barn at Mrs. Mollie Payne's river farm burned in the early hours of Monday night destroying hay and corn belonging to Mrs. Payne and burning farming tools of R. L. Luckado. Tenant George Meredith lost some corn. The four year old barn valued at 900 had 600 of insurance. Some corn was insured but hay was not. T. E. Snyder lies ill in Gransville Sanatorium since last Monday.

Creditors Move to Bankrupt Harry Kercheval
Creditors filed papers with the U S commissioner at Evansville last Saturday to force bankruptcy. They claim debts around 2800 dollars and assets a few hundred dollars less. The filings allege Kercheval transferred his horses and wagons to Daniel Kopp and note he has run a general store at Rockport for about two years.

Funeral for Mrs Benson Bennett
Funeral service held at Baptist church conducted by Rev J C Wyatt. Mrs Bennett died Wednesday of pneumonia at her Greenville Kentucky home. She was the widow of Wm Bennett formerly of Rockport. She was seventy four years old. Interred in Sunset Hill cemetery.

Wind Storm Destroys Property Across Rockport County
A severe wind and rain storm struck Rockport and surrounding areas Tuesday morning, lifting roofs and tearing down structures. The storm damaged the fair ground and city hall, knocked down power and telephone lines, and caused extensive losses including a barn and other buildings.
