Gas Well Sold Under Hammer In Gentryville

A gas well and lease on the Frakes farm in Gentryville were sold by Sheriff Sohn to satisfy a 346.36 judgment in favor of John Owen of Noblesville. Owen’s bid of 400 was the only bid, and the sale may eliminate local stockholders while Owen contemplates future use of the gas to supply Gentryville. The fate of the well and piping stock remains unsettled.

Louise Roetzel Dies After Illness in City Home

After nearly three years of illness Louise Catherine Roetzel died Tuesday morning at 11 at her sister Mrs. Mary Seipel’s home. Born April 4 1870 in Centerville she taught in Spencer and Warrick counties after graduating Rockport High in 1887. She leaves father Henry four brothers Conrad William Henry Otto and three sisters Mrs. Mary Seipel Katherine Roetzel and Mrs. Lena Wier. mother and one sister predeceased her. Funeral at Trinity Lutheran Church Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. Diehl and Rev. Wall officiated. burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Grandview Flour Milling Upgrade Promises Growth

Cadick Milling Company of Grandview plans to rebuild its flouring mill doubling capacity. New machinery will replace the old, with a 32 by 60 foot two story storage addition. Rebuild expected to finish by sixty days after an April shutdown, around early June.

Deficiency Fund Apportions State Aid to Counties

The deficieny fund distributed state aid to 33 counties to extend term lengths. Sums ranged from under fifty dollars to over twelve thousand, with Ohio the smallest and Perry the largest. Four counties—Bartholomew, Huntington, Jennings and Switzerland—did not receive more in June than they paid in. The total distributed was not stated.
