Recent Law Requires Immediate Recording Of Real Estate

New legislation effective January 1 1914 requires deeds mortgages and leases to be recorded immediately after execution with no time limit. Priority now goes to the first filing in the county recorder with good faith and valuable consideration. The Universal Steno firm will move from Owensboro Kentucky to Indianapolis Friday. Rainfall last weekend improved crops after heat extended drought. Tobacco planting began in several areas early this week.

Col O G Sprouse Purchases Big Indiana Stock

Hopkinsville reports Col. O. G. Sprouse has bought a twenty five thousand dollar stock of merchandise at Rockport Indiana and plans a mammoth sale there. He intends to enter Indiana mercantile business permanently and will outfit the Rockport store with the same fixtures as his Springfield and Hopkinsville shops once the current sale closes.

Rural Letter Carriers Meet at Evansville July 6 1913

The Rural Letter Carriers of the 1st Congressional District hold their fourth annual meeting at the Custom House Evansville on July 6 1913 with morning and afternoon sessions. Rural carriers postmasters and others in the service are urged to attend as important matters will be presented and National Rural Letter Carriers Association arrangements will be made. A pleasing program has been arranged.

Mrs. W. W. Kellams entertained guests including Clara and Anna Beehler of Lafayette Indiana with a dancing party at her Lincoln Street home. Attendees included Katherine Kehrer Nell Rimstidt Eva Harrison Edna Thompson Mary Hurst and more. Beehlers left for Lafayette Wednesday evening.

Young Woman Ella Campbell Dies in Evansville

Miss Ella Campbell of Chrisney died at an Evansville hospital last Saturday after being removed for treatment. The 37 year old woman died from inflammation of the stomach. Funeral services were held at the Christey M E church Monday afternoon led by Rev. W P Wallace with interment in Bloomfield cemetery.

Mrs J T McKenney Dies in Richland City

Mrs J T McKenney died Thursday at 5 am at her Richland City home after months of ill health. Funeral at 9 am Saturday from the family residence with Rev Schoon erer of Vincennes Ind officiating. Interment in Ebenezer cemetery. She was 67 and survived by husband, son Dr Jesse McKenney of Saranac Lake NY, and daughter Mrs Roland Jessup of York PA.
