John B Wright Succumbs After Illness at Home

John B Wright died Tuesday at six p m at the family residence at Fourth and Walnut. He had been an invalid for years with a complication of diseases. He was 68 years old and survived by a wife, three daughters Mrs Henry Ellis, Miss Puss Wright, and Laura Wright, two brothers J B Wright and Abe Wright. Funeral services were held Thursday at 10 oclock from the residence and at Shiloh Church with Rev Ira Miller and Rev R R Bryan officiating. Burial was in Shiloh Cemetery.

Four Year Term for County Asylum Superintendents

A new law sets county asylum superintendents for four year terms from the first Monday in June 1914 with initial appointments in January 1914 and a March 1914 start for those not bound by existing contracts. Salaries, qualifications, and removal procedures are outlined, and boards may issue three month supply contracts. Eastern Star Convention Attended by Local Members

The district convention of the Order of Eastern Star met in Princeton on Wednesday with many attendees. The program featured city sightseeing by automobile, degree work, and a 5 p.m. dinner at the Masonic temple. Local participants included Mesdames G Weiss, Mayhall, Mason, Weiner, Adams, Halbruge, Miss Margaret Gold, and L Halbruge. Grandview members George Wander and Bert Newman also attended. The next district meeting will be held in Evansville. Mrs J C Jolly of Richland City returned from Bloomington where her son Parvin earned a medical degree. Mrs Caroline Eigenmann also returned from Evansville visit.
