Sam Parsley of Oak Grove four miles southwest of Rockport earned a total of 115.66 dollars for two fifths of an acre of burley tobacco weighing 1 575 pounds at Owensboro loose leaf warehouse. The rate implies 289.15 dollars per acre and an estimated yield of 39 317 pounds per acre. A D Stanton moved his family from Indianapolis to Rockport this week occupying Miss Lizzie Mohr's Second street residence. Stanton is a traveling representative of John Deer Plow Co.

The Indiana corn growers annual meeting is set for January 18 at Purdue University during the Farmers short course. Prof R A Moore of Wisconsin will advise on improving crops and seed quality while Prof Metall of Ohio State discusses lime use in soil. Medals will be awarded to men who have grown 100 bushels of corn per acre.

Mrs Carlisle dies after long illness at 58
Mrs Johnathan Carlisle of South Third street died last Thursday night after months of gastritis. She was 58 and survived by a husband and several grown sons and daughters. Funeral services were held from the ME church Saturday afternoon with Rev. J. J. Robinette officiating. Interment followed at Sunset Hill cemetery.
