Fire damages Biles homestead at Seminary and Third
The Biles homestead at Seminary and Third streets suffered severe fire damage with the upper story burned away and lower floors flooded. Occupied by D. R. Cunningham and family, the house was uninsured in part. The family was at church when the blaze started and the cause remains unknown.

The barn on Roy Ayers farm in Hamomad township burned last Sunday morning. The family was away. origin unknown. Loss around $1500 with some insurance. A silo, hay and grain, a wagon, harness and farming tools were also consumed.

Remains Interred at Shiloh Church Funeral
The remains of Mrs. Will Baiy who died at her home in Gentryville were brought in over the Southern railway Wednesday morning and conveyed to Shiloh church where the funeral service and interment took place. Rev. Edwin Shake led the service. Mrs. Brady had been ill for several months with a cancerous trouble. Nine children survive.

Ladies of Trinity Lutheran church hosted male members and several Soviet guests for a three course luncheon on a Wednesday evening. A literary program followed by talks highlighted the annual congregational meeting with participation from those present. Thomas Axton named to an Indiana building post for the Panama Exposition in San Francisco. He will spend ten months there with family, leaving around February 5. Fred Haaff of Chimney visited the city on business after returning from Monte Vista, Colorado, where he spent the past ten months.
