C F Brown, a Kentucky horse fancier, acquired the standard bred stallion Ebrechtion from the blue grass region and brought him here last Monday. The trotter, raced in the East and owner of winning earnings, belongs to the Wilkes and Electioneer family and is a half brother to The Abbot 2:03 1 and The Monk 2:05 trotters. Brown intends breeding use rather than racing.

Rockport fair hosts annual wedding on platform stage
Clarence Taylor and Miss Viola Chissom, both of Daviess County, Ky, wed on a Rockport fair platform in front of the grand stand. Sgt. Harry Poole officiated as thousands witnessed. The fair company paid costs and gave five dollars cash. Sheriff Kramer reports ten inmates in the county jail with three awaiting circuit court on assault and battery with attempt to steal, including reference to Owensboro and Evansville individuals.

A Richland City man loses thirty six dollars from a pocket book during a fair near the traction station. A suspect negro was arrested and three others were questioned. the book was recovered in Evansville but the cash was gone. Other incidents include attempted robberies by two negro men and a white man fined for public intoxication then jumping into the river and being rescued.

Rockport Fair Declared Huge Success At Close
The Rockport fair ended last Saturday after five days of activities. The Rockport Association earned praise for a creditable event with strong racing exhibits and beautiful grounds. Attendance stayed robust despite unfavorable weather with about 10 000 on Thursday and similar numbers on Friday. Thousands from Owensboro traveled by boat and a special Lincoln City train carried large crowds. The poultry show exceeded expectations and the agricultural display was notably good despite the drought. Each afternoon featured a balloon ascension and parachute jump to cap the program.

Killing in Dubois County on Wiseman Farm
Louis Wiseman was shot and killed Wednesday on his Brettville area farm in Dubois County by Crip Bufkin after Wiseman ordered him off the land. Bufkin was arrested in Jasper and faces murder charges. his 18 year old son witnessed the confrontation.

Two-Horse Team Flee Down Walnut Street Near Sprouse’s Store
A two horse team hitched to a road wagon bolted when startled by an automobile near Sprouse’s store on Wednesday evening. The team owned by Lonny Parsley ran up Main Street toward Patronville, then Walnut Street, and into a ditch at the college lot corner where they were caught. No injuries or damage occurred.
