Miss Ruth Baker of Boonville and Stanley Miller of DeLand Fla were married last Thursday in Henderson Ky The bride daughter of Mr and Mrs John E Baker was active in Boonville Rockport social circles She attended Indiana University as a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority Miller Sigma Nu member came from Florida to attend Indiana University Bloomington The couple plan a September motor trip to DeLand Florida where they will reside.
William H. Bise 68 died suddenly last Thursday evening at his Indianapolis grocery store after being found by his wife who heard him fall. Funeral services were held in Indianapolis. A former Rockport resident, he left eight years ago and is survived by his wife, three children Charles, Arthur Bise and Mrs. Charles Gilmore, and one brother Sam Bise.
A barn on John Haines farm was struck by lightning during a storm and burned at about ten o clock Tuesday. Sixty tons hay two tons oats two buggies one horse five sets harness a wagon corn and farming tools were destroyed. Mr and Mrs Haines are away on an automobile tour.
The library will be open in the morning during August instead of the afternoon. No other services or dates are specified in the notice.
Grandview Chautauqua this week features top notch programs in music and lectures led by speakers including Dr. Roy L. Smith and Miss Gay Zenda MacLaren. County commencement exercises deliver 168 eighth grade diplomas as Supt. L. N. Hines stresses better roads and consolidated schools.
