New Computerized Control Center In Operation Dec

Iowa Public Service Company announced its new computerized System Control Center in the Orgheum Building Sioux City will begin operation Sunday December 1. The center uses a BM 1800 digital computer for continuous electronic monitoring of gas and electric systems with nine remote stations and a large display board.IPS President E W Griffithsaid the facility will provide efficient economical operations and was designed entirely by IPS engineers and staff.

Iowa State graduate joins inspector general team

John A. Vande Weerd of Schaller Iowa was named Assistant Inspector General in a release by the West Virginia based Veterans organization Commander Homan lauding his leadership and prior accomplishments. Patricia Kosters daughter of Hein Kosters, was among 420 fall quarter graduates at Iowa State University Ames receiving a Textiles and Clothing degree.

The Iowa Conservation Commission reminds that bow and arrow deer hunting ends half hour after sunset on Thanksgiving Day. The 62 day season ran from September 28 to November 28 with no further details.

Five Rock Valley Boys Plead Guilty In Police Car Tampering Case

Five Rock Valley youths pleaded guilty in Justice J. Hoogendoorn's court to tampering with a police vehicle after a Monday night incident at City Hall. They were fined 100 dollars each. Bwaine Driesen John Bauder Lyle Kavima Wayne Davelaar and Rodley Brinsting admitted the charge. Dennis Yankee and Gary Miller pled not guilty and face further proceedings. Three others faced resisting arrest charges and will be tried this week. Gene Allen Van Kekerix Rock Walli was cited for a stop sign violation in related city cases.

Wesselink Rites Held at Hull’s First Reformed Church

Funeral services for Henry D. Wesselink 69 of Hull were held Friday at the First Reformed Church with Rev. David Der Beest officiating. Burial followed in Hull Cemetery. Annual Farmers Regional Co op Felco Meeting in Omaha
