Report from Rock Valley area deer season shows 75 to 85 percent of hunters tagged deer. Local observers call the White tails rebound a notable success reflecting skilled driving and favorable conditions.

Honor Roll Brightens RVHS Through Eight B Students

The RVHS first nine weeks honors show eight B honor roll students in the sophomore class leading six grades. Eighth grader Curtis De Graf leads with A averages. seniors Darlens Flanagan through Tindal Vander Rak on the honor roll. juniors and freshmen listed with names. Rock Valley Betterment Council met November 15 at Chas Gayer’s home electing officers for 1968 1967 year. The group discussed overnight camping facilities and a proposed Post Office location with possible dental practice in the city.

Moonlight Madness Opens Rock Valley Christmas Season

Rock Valley Commercial Club announced Moonlight Madness for Friday December 2 marking the start of the Christmas season. Stores offer sales from 7 to 11 p.m. The Buffalo Hunt is set for December 17 and Santa visits on December 23.

Five RV Musicians In State Festival Readied for Des Moines

Five RV musicians from OC Valley advanced to All State try-outs, with Donna Klein and Davey Van Abboma earning concert seats. AL State Quartet members Jair Mulder Doris Kock and Karen Wesselink will join the festival choir. The ensemble, directed by Revelli of Michigan, performs Saturday at 7 30 p m in Lee ERNT Theatre Des Moines.

Hope Haven Society approves the board plan to build a school plant at Rock Valley site. The initial building includes eight classrooms a dining area a living area a multipurpose room and admin facilities with a total cost of 256 796.00 plus furnishings and site work Defor ming Construction of Sioux City named designer contractor. Nearly 83000 in gifts and pledges raised local appeal for funds continues. Seven new board members elected to the 21 member board.

Soup Supper Raises Funds for Class Treasur

A senior class treasurer reports a soup supper raised two hundred fifty two dollars and seventy five cents after adding seventy five dollars from advanced sales. Fourteen dollars covered crackers buns and milk. The class thanks parents for food and labor led by Alice Varde Weerd.
