Graduation Night Crowds Fill High School Auditorium
A capacity crowd attended the May 24 commencement at the high school. diplomas were presented by John Kersberkes, president of the Board of Education. Ten S. Kendall, Ph.D., Academic Dean of Augustana, spoke on Retrospect and Prospect. Valedictorian Dennis Hamann, son of Mr and Mrs Kari Hamann, graduated with a 9.78 GPA. Orpheum Theatre Reopens After Renovation In Alton

Corporal Henderson Receives Medal For Vietnam Heroism
Cpl. David L. Henderson is shown with Col. Michel Mostetler after receiving the Navy Commendation Medal on April 28 for heroic actions as a fire team leader during Dagger Thrust in Phu Thu area, Viet Nam.
