Two-Car Crash Hospitalizes Rock Valley Woman
John Koetam of Rock Valley and Dorothy Damm of Alvord were hospitalized after a two car crash at an Alvord intersection Saturday evening. A 1956 Buick driven by James LeRoy Van Surksum of Alvord failed to stop at a sign, colliding with Koedam’s car. Koedam, owned by Kenneth Koedam, had a total loss. Van Surksum’s car sustained about 150 dollars in damage. Van Surksum cited for failure to yield right of way.

Three Die After Slushy Highway Crash Near Paulina
A two car collision 4.4 miles east of Pauling last Wednesday afternoon killed Mrs Mary Ann Bergert and her two sons Dean and David. Another occupant Sylvia Fiddelke died later at Sioux City hospital. Mrs Bergert and her passenger were injured. both cars were total losses. Patrolman Larry Wise investigated.

John Van Zanten presided as plans formed to address unsightly properties and to place a year calendar in the library and a weekly events calendar in The Bee. Kenneth Moser 62 of Lester Iowa died in Sioux Falls after brain tumor surgery. Funeral services were held at the Ap Ostotlc church in Lester with Leo Moser presiding. He was born June 25 1923 near Lester to Sau and Pauline Moger and married Donna Cunningham in Rock Rapids. Survived by wife and two children Beth Ann and Don, plus two sisters and eight brothers.
