Feeder Cattle Prices Forecast Strength Into 1966 Outlook
Iowa State economist Gene Futrell says feeder cattle demand and prices should stay strong in 1966 with prices near February 1968 levels into spring. Feeder steer averages at 10 terminals in mid February reached 25.32 dollars per hundredweight, about 2.50 higher than December and 5.32 above last year, with calves and yearlings leading gains.

Watershed planning advances amid cattle market notes
In Iowa the Lyon County Pioneer Watershed gains momentum with planned surveys and a 1968 start for construction of a watershed and recreational park. Separately, cattle prices and feeder economics loom, with forecasts for 1966 profits lower than 1965 and guidance on feeding returns from the Cattle Feeding Worksheet. Illinois and Minnesota link a new 345 000 volt line extending toward the Minnesota border, a $47 million system set for 1970 service.
