Nise students from Rock Valley Community High School will act as hosts and hostesses Tuesday March 7 at a career event. The event aims to introduce students to local job opportunities and professional paths with guidance from educators and community volunteers.
Lawrence Aurit a 25 year Rock Valley city employee died at McKennan Hospital Sioux Falls after brief illness. Funeral 10:30 a.m. Monday at St Mary's Catholic Church with Rev Bi Zeak officiating. Burial in St Mary's Cemetery. Survivors include widow Susie Kessler Canton S.D. mother and five siblings. he was born July 33 1910 in Rock Valley and was a World War II veteran.
About 1300 sophomores and juniors from Sioux County high schools will attend Northwestern College Career Day guided by W. K. Price Sioux County superintendent. The event will showcase 56 occupations with over 60 consultants and sessions across departments in Rock Valley and Western Christian areas. The program opens with a general assembly led by Roland Simmelink admissions director and includes invocations and three career workshops.

A small fire broke out at Dr C J Schroeder’s Rock Valley home on February 22 at 5 PM. Firefighters quickly extinguished it with minor smoke damage. The blaze originated from a short circuit in the basement wiring, with the residence at 1620 19th Avenue.
