Mr and Mrs Klaas Hendriks celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Monday July 17 from 2 to 5 pm at 1821 19th Street with an open house for friends. They married July 17 1909 in Holland and later immigrated to America. They have three children 48 grandchildren 64 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. Generations will be present and guests are invited for coffee.

Two Judges For Six NW Counties Under Iowa Bill

TB Tests Are Being Taken Here
Interviews with persons known to have had close contact with an active tuberculosis case have been conducted here for weeks. Mrs. Bernice Bergsma in cooperation with local physicians directs a tuberculosis cage-finding program funded by Christmas Seals and approved by the Sioux County Medical Society. The Mobile Unit accepts only those previously advised for an x-ray, with films interpreted by a certified radiologist and confidential findings reported to family physicians. Follow-up is by Mrs. Bergsma and local physicians.

The Rock Valley High School class of 1947 celebrated the twentieth anniversary with a Saturday dinner in Hass Hall attended by 32 people including 18 graduates, spouses, and guests. The event featured remarks by Miss McNamara and staff, group photographs, and updated personal histories, followed by a social at the Rock Valley Golf Clubhouse and a Sunday picnic at Rock Valley Park.

Firemen Called To Winters Farm Shed Fire
Firemen were called to the Ken Winters farm five miles south of town Monday evening to extinguish shed fires. Very little damage was reported to the shed shingles and roof. The fire was believed caused by sparks from a rubbish fire burning in a barrel near the shed.

Services Held Wednesday For Henry Van Groetheest Drowning Victim
Funeral services were held for Henry J Van Grootheest 21 at the Christian Reformed Church of Lebanon with burial in Lebanon Cemetery. He died when the boat he rode in capsized near Harrisberg SD His brother Lawrence 17 and others from Michigan and Iowa were among those involved. Survivors include a widow and a son, plus his parents and several siblings. A field rep from Sioux City was at Rock Rapids Court House to assist with Medicare premium questions.
