31 4 H Members Take Trip To Minn
Thirty one Sioux County 4 H members and chaperones will travel July 17 29 to Minneapolis as an alternative to the canceled Michigan Exchange Trip. Delegates chosen for 4 H work will tour Aquatennial events watch a major league baseball game and visit major Minnesota firms. Funds from bake sales car washes skatings and the Carnival Fund Right supported by the 4 H County Council financed the trip.

Northwest Iowa Vocational School will start a one year carpentry program this fall, enrolling about twenty four students. The course focuses on building a residence under a skilled builder, with two class sections offered from 9 am to 2 pm and 3 pm to 8 pm. One hundred seventy roads of fill dirt were hauled to Hope Haven school’s new location by four area firms on Saturday July 1. Jez’s Ready Mix Soo Ready Mix Alvin Den Herder Trucking and Howard Smit Dray and Transfer provided equipment and labor. Volunteer helpers included Dave Maxwell Henry De Jong Gaynard Te Growenhuis Henry Grevengoed Dennis Reisma Gene Den Herder and Howard Smit.
