Hog market outlook for 1969 suggests modest gains
Futrell forecasts January to March hog marketings up six to seven percent from 1968, with the last quarter at near 1968 levels. Second quarter gains around three percent. Spring pig crop size will largely drive late 1969 hog marketings and prices. In Iowa, farrowing intentions for December May are up about five to eight percent, signaling possible summer and fall increases.
